Not a single Canadian miner was hired when HD Mining requested a permit to mine coal near Tumbler Ridge, B.C.
Instead, the company imported 200 Chinese foreigners to work in the mine for the next decade and a half.
Incredibly, the company claimed that there were no qualified Canadian miners.
Apparently, the company never got word that mining has been going on in Canada since the 1700’s.
Perhaps HD Mining’s alleged links to the Communist regime in China has something to do with it.
This is not right and explains why foreign ownership of Canadian assets needs to be reigned-in.
